The Under 2s programme at PIPS has a cosy and intimate classroom. The Under 2 programme (for children aged 1-2 years) is designed to provide children with an introduction to school through play and exploration.
Children attend the programme for 2 hours, either two or three times per week. They have opportunities to meet and interact with other children and adults whilst experiencing a wide range of sensory play, music and movement, songs with actions, construction, puzzles, art, role-play and simple cooking activities. They enjoy having snack together, visiting the music room for a music lesson with a specialist teacher and beginning to learn Putonghua with a specialist teacher. All these experiences help them to develop their language and social skills and to begin to follow the routines and the expectations of school. The children visit the PIPS garden regularly to see the cycle of nature unfolding and the frogs, turtles and plants that flourish there. They also visit the large playground where they can enjoy digging in the large sandpit, the climbing frames and a variety of bikes, cars and scooters.
